So welcome, everyone. And thank you so much for joining us today. Our relationship with Atrium Advocate now provides us a much larger clinical research footprint and the opportunity to do research projects that will have a greater impact nationally. Our goal is to be the national leader in areas where we are conducting cutting edge research.

I am so grateful for the research that our faculty, staff, students engage in at our Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Reaching now into Charlotte and beyond as the footprint of our medical school expands to serve so many in the broadening advocate enterprise. I know firsthand the power of research and I know that the discoveries we make will have a lasting and meaningful impact on our future.

The engine of our academic learning health system research permeates everything that we do with the goal of improving the health of our patients and our communities. Our research plan for excellence supports all research being done in several key areas, which include health equity, aging, Alzheimer's, cancer, cardiovascular, diabetes, obesity and metabolism, neurosciences, and regenerative medicine.

The future of the delivery of a research institution, and research that's going to be going on here, is tremendously exciting to me as the mayor of the city of Winston-Salem, and should be to all of our citizens. The things that are going to come from this I believe will further solidify and tie down Winston-Salem tie-in to Atrium and Advocate Health going forward, and make us a key partner for the research that's going to be happening here that will really impact all across the country.

Research is about our patients and about providing a longer, better quality of life for those who suffer from disease and injury. The fundamental truth is that without research, there is no medicine. It's really the discoveries and research that allow us to treat patients today and also to look forward to the therapies of tomorrow that will make patients better longterm. So philanthropy supports us and it gives us the laser-focused ability to solve problems without having to worry about where we get that dollar for things that are not funded. Wouldn't it be amazing if we could cure the next sets of diseases that are still incurable today, like Alzheimer's or Parkinson's? Wouldn't it be great if we could cure diabetes? Your dollars can make that a reality.

I'm very excited to publicly launch our ENVISION fundraising campaign. Our ENVISION campaign to accelerate discovery, hope, and health. We will work with you to raise a hundred million dollars for the ENVISION campaign. The ENVISION campaign will help us raise the critical funding needed to support promising research efforts across the Advocate Health enterprise. Philanthropic support will fuel our commitment to research and will enhance the speed to move our new ideas forward, from labs to the patient bedside and beyond.
